Prose Poem Postcard Contest

Wednesday October 29, 2008
It's been a while since I sent anything to a contest, but while I was updating the December short story contests calendar, one from Meridian caught my eye.

They're asking for submissions of prose poems -- small enough to fit on a postcard -- to be printed up for distribution at the 2009 AWP Conference in Chicago. The fee is a modest $3.50, and there's a $100 prize for the winner. But more than anything, I liked being given an assignment, and thought others out there might feel the same way. (And if you win, be sure to let us know!)
