Walking from Bloomsbury to the British Library, Charles Dickens fans will want to stop off at 48 Doughty Street, the home of Charles Dickens from 1837 until 1839 and now a museum. Here, Dickens wrote Oliver Twist and completed The Pickwick Papers. Said to be the last surviving London home of the novelist, the house contains his study, manuscripts, original furniture, and other personal items.

Take the tube to Russell Square, Chancery Lane, or Holborn. See the museum's site for hours and admission fees.
