Writing Spaces

Tuesday August 18, 2009

Every summer I look over our lists of writers' rooms to make sure everthing's current, and for the second year in a row, not one had closed -- it seems these spaces continue to flourish, despite the economic downturn. If the recession has affected anything, it's prices. Outside of New York, many places have lowered their rates. (In New York, where many media types are out of work, prices have generally gone up a bit, but not as much as I expected.) If you use a writers' room, please comment below, whether it's on this list or not. Are you more productive now that you rent a space? How else has it changed your writing life?
