Short Story Rules to (Mostly) Live By

Though it's true that rules are made to be broken, if you're consistently having trouble with short stories, reviewing the standard rules might help. After all, the short story is a difficult form, even if the novel gets more attention. Fortunately, there are basic guidelines to help you master the form.
