First Writers' Room Opens in Chicago
Saturday October 21, 2006
The Uptown Writer's Space, the first writers' room in Chicago, opened up earlier this month, billing itself as "Quieter than Starbucks, but more fun than the local library, cleaner than your extra bedroom or home office, and more affordable than your gym." Featuring 18 wooden cubicles, wireless internet, and a coffee bar/lounge, the space promises Chicago writers with both space to write and community. Rates range from $225 for three months to $800 for a year.
