Upcoming 2005 Conferences for Genre Writers
Thursday June 2, 2005
Genre writers have two different conferences to look forward to: The 22nd Annual Colorado Gold Conference, September 9-11, in Denver, Colorado, includes sessions of interest to writers of historical fiction, romance, and mystery; while the Book Passage 12th Annual Mystery Writers Conference, July 7-10, in Corte Madera, California (north of San Francisco), focuses on the needs of mystery writers. Both conferences feature agents, publishers, and writers from the trade and are designed to help writers hone their craft and find out what agents and editors want. The Book Passage conference also includes panels of detectives, forensics experts, and other crime-fighting specialists to supply writers with concrete facts to support their fiction. For programs, lists of presenters, and registration information, visit their sites. (Discounted registration is available for the Colorado Gold Conference until July 31st.)
